The Fashion Files Inspired me

So today I wore a very plain Jane outfit grey trousers and a plain blue top nothing exciting I was to tired to care. Oh and no make up not a scrap of it THEN (apparently that level of drama was needed there) I quickly picked up one of my new books and had a flick through some of the pages (you see when you don't have a lot to do in the mornings and no Luke to distract me I have time for perusing books) and felt so under dressed that I immediately changed into something nicer. Yep, that's right I am that fickle that I changed from looking at some pictures. Maybe that could be my new trick to look through some fashion books or mags in the morning and I will make more of an effort every day. But some days you need a casual day to not wear make up and pull your hair back into a messy bun. Well I do anyway :-D
So the book is The Fashion File, Mad Men, Janie Bryant with Monica Corcoran Harel. I bought this from Amazon and so far I am finding this fabballs.

My fav look from the whole book is a white shirt with a coloured A Line skirt and red belt cinched in at the waist.
So my outfit now is a lot prettier and I think it's worthy of a post for you all to see. Please excuse my hair it had a mind of its own and my photographers aka my mum and friend from work wanted to play silly buggers with the camera.
The whole outfit is from primark (with exception to both of my rings) which was not intentionally planned that way and I did not realise this until now and I have just worked the price out it was all under £30 that's a good bargain i think.
So onto my look. What did you wear? Do books inspire you?

Plus it's Tuesday which means magazine day :-)

It's just another manic Monday

Good evening there,
The weekend always seems to fly by it makes me so sad :-( so now we are at Monday again which means back to work. I was feeling grumpy that it was time for work so I wore my fuscia purple skirt to cheer me up. Do you wear bright colours to make you smile?
So my mum was making me do stupid poses so you all get to see them and laugh along with me. By now you should realise I don't take myself to serious and like to poke fun at myself :-)

Leopardess ready to pounce

Good evening all,

Just a little outfit post for you all. Today I felt quite feisty I'n this leopardess look. I like the leopard print look and think it looks fab when it's understated. I went for lots of little pieces to pull together one look. My make up was understated and simple hair do. I no I'm not normally one for understated but the saying goes a leopard can change it's spots. Oops that's meant to be can't. Another cliche then "there's a first time for everything"

Action shots needed of course :-)

Interview Tips

Hi Everyone,

So I have just done a youtube video on interview tips and thought I would put pen to paper with my tips as well.
  • research the company. I would say to know 5 points about the company and try to link yourself to the points. (Example: When I joined my company they were in there centenary year and done a lot of charity work. I do a lot of charity work with children and youth clubs so I linked the two)
  • prepare for the interview, have key points written down either in a folder or a notepad but have them on you so if you need to refer to them you can
  • take a pen and paper so you can take notes of what is being said if you wont remember later
  • have a glass of water so if you feel to nervous you can pick the glass up to give you something to concentrate on rather then fidgeting
  • feel as confident as possible. say a mantra to yourself of how amazing you are. if you don't believe in yourself and think your good enough for the job why will anyone else.
  • dress smart bu comfortable.if you feel comfortable in flat shoes then wear them. you don't need to wear heels ts better to feel comfortable while your sitting there.
  • if you normally wear bright colours (like me) then stick to one colour. eg a red cardigan and shoes. but don't go overboard with the colour.
the biggest DON'T i will advise for an interview is NEVER ask about money. If you are unsure of the salary check with the agency or HR before or after the interview, but not during the interview.

IF you are unsuccessful with the interview just think there loss and there missing out on a fantastic person like you. all interviews are experiences and that we can't put a price on.
Sorry for the wordy blog and no pretty pictures (or scary faces in my case) hope you enjoy this blog post and it was helpful.

Doing the chalston

Hi everyone,

So I am going through the eras this week. My challenge today was the 20s so I of course I took this challenge on. I only used my wardrobe and come up with the below. My hair looked better but it fell out.
My mum has been taking my pictures. I actually find posing harder when someones watching me then if I am on my own. Weird I know lol.

Dress, jacket and shoes - debenhams
Cardigan - Dorothy Perkins
Earrings - avon
Necklace and flower hairband - primark
So picture time. I hope you like them.

Trying to do the charlston.
